For 14 years, Stone Soup Cottage was open to the public only a few nights a week, offering a seven-course tasting menu and wine flights. Awarded 2010 Best Restaurant by St. Louis Magazine, Best New Restaurant by the St. Louis Post Dispatch in 2009, 2010 Top 5 Regional Restaurants in the United States by The Week Magazine, a 2016 James Beard Award Nominee for Best Service, and awarded Best Restaurant in St. Louis by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 2017 and 2018.

Stone Soup Cottage offered just one seating of up to 24 guests and one seasonal tasting menu a night. The prix fixe menu changed every month and provided an opportunity to embrace classically prepared European fare, focusing on the regions of southern France and northern Italy. The McConnells also published an award-winning cookbook which can still be found in local bookstores and available for download.

Once coined the hardest reservation to secure in the area, Stone Soup Cottage brought seasonal elegance, hospitality, and fine French-inspired cuisine to guests night after night. Tables glistening in cut crystal and the finest stemware alongside forged silver and elegant linens were a trademark to the cottage...no detail too small and no effort too great. They will bring this boutique elegance and unparalleled hospitality to Le Champ De Fleurs.

The McConnells welcome their two sons and future daughter-in-law into the fold as they work as a family in this new chapter. Their greatest hope is to carry on this beautiful farm for generations. "We are living our dream and can't wait to share this new chapter with new and returning guests!"
